Welcome to ASITA 2024 !

Halifax, Canada- June 16th to 19th, 2024

The CERC.OCEAN laboratory, led by Dr. Douglas Wallace, is pleased to host the Advances in Stable Isotope Techniques and Applications (ASITA) Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, from June 16th to 19th, 2024.  The conference talks will be held at 5793 University Ave. The focus of the conference continues to be on methodology advancements, technical challenges, and novel applications of stable isotopes.  This conference has a reputation for being an informal forum for discussing and solving technical challenges.  We are looking forward to another great meeting!

We will start Sunday with a day of short courses focusing on EA & GC peripherals, basic isotope analysis, instrument operation & troubleshooting, data manipulation, and a workshop on gas regulators.  The day will conclude with the popular icebreaker reception.

The main conference from Monday to Wednesday will have oral and poster presentations, and two keynote speakers, Drs. Carolyn Buchwald and Owen Sherwood. Instrument users and vendors are encouraged to participate and present their work related to new techniques or applications of stable isotopes.  Please contact us to advise us of potential talks or posters.

Lab tours of the CERC.OCEAN lab and Dr. Owen Sherwood’s lab will be arranged for Wednesday afternoon.

Consider extending your stay. Explore the history of Nova Scotia at museums and historic sites, or discover the many ocean beaches and hiking trails!
